These are full-cost scholarships for study any subject at the postgraduate level at the University of Cambridge that are available to citizens of countries other than the United Kingdom.
The Scholarship programme was set up by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000 by a donation of US$210m. Since then, we have supported more than 1,900 students from over 100 countries. The aim of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.
Scholars are selected on the following criteria:
- Outstanding intellectual ability
- Reasons for choice of course
- Leadership potential
- A commitment to improving the lives of others
Applications for 2023-24 entry are open and there are two major deadlines (early December 2022 or early January 2023) which are determined by the course being applied for.
